American performer Allison Brooks Janney was born November 19th 1959. Over the past three decades Janney's performances have earned appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney has been honored with various awards including her own Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. In addition, she was awarded the seven Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was born in Boston and grew up near Dayton near Dayton, Ohio. She received a scholarship to learn in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following her graduation from Kenyon College. Janney's debut on TV came in 1999. She played C. J. Cregg in the NBC's drama The West Wing (from 1999 through 2006). She received the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the character. For her role in the Showtime show Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Janney received nominations seven times for Primetime Emmy Awards and twice received the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress Comedy Series.
